Frequently Asked Questions
LUME firepits are proudly designed and made in Melbourne and only available to purchase through our online store and select retailers, we ship Australia wide.
As with any firepit, the LUME will get very hot when in use, care and necessary precautions should be taken when using the firepit especially around children and animals to avoid injury.
How do I assemble a LUME?
All of our LUME fire pits are compiled of four panels, two smaller end panels with a LUME logo and two larger side panels that form the bowl of the fire pit once slotted in to place. A small gap of 2-3mm between the side panels is normal, if you notice a larger gap please try flipping or alternating the panels.
Note that the fire pits are heavy so may require two people to move them once assembled, do not attempt to move or dismantle a fire pit when in use, please wait until fully cooled.
Where should I position a LUME firepit?
Ideally your LUME should be placed in the open air, on concrete or gravel and with sufficient space surrounding to avoid any fuel or ash catching surrounding items.
We do not recommend placing your LUME directly on decking as heat can transfer and cause damage.
The LUME and urban LUME are cut from corten steel which naturally develops a rusted patina with time and exposure, please be aware that any run off could stain the surface your LUME is placed on.
How do I care for my LUME?
Your LUME has been carefully designed and manufactured from superior quality steel and cut in a thickness that should far outlast other options on the market today.
Due to the nature of the material there are a number of variables that may affect the lifespan of your LUME such as exposure to the weather, how frequently it is used and how it is cleaned and stored.
We recommend clearing ash and debris from your LUME once it has completely cooled, if you do not plan to use your LUME for an extended period of time then simply pull it apart and store it clean and dry away from the elements.
Occasionally you may notice some flex in the side panels of your LUME when in use. Minor flexing is normal and a result of the steel expanding under heat. Flipping the side panels will close up any minimal gap which may have formed. On the very rare occurrence that a panel appears more severely bowed please contact us.
